Peyton's Park

After one stressful day and one rainy day Peyton's early birthday surprise is complete!! It was so worth it to hear her say "Wow, is this my park?"

I had taken last Thursday off so that Travis and I could work on the swing set while Peyton was at daycare. Let's just say that it wasn't our day! First thing that morning we had a minor car mishap in the driveway. Let's just say that both cars are needing to get some body repairs done:-) Then daycare called an hour after Peyton had arrived and said she had diarrhea! So Travis went and got her. I stayed outside to try and put together as much as I could with just one person. The instructions didn't lie when they said it would take two adults 6-12 hours to assemble. Here is phase 1 pictures and what I got done on Thursday.

Then Saturday Grandpa Mike and Grandma Di came to help us finish putting it together. Grandma Di and Peyton played inside while, Papa Mike, Daddy and I put the rest together. Overall, it went fairly smooth. (Only a few times of "Oops! That was the wrong part.") It took us from 8:30am to 2pm to get it completed. There were a few times the rain came down a little too much, but we kept on! I'm just glad it wasn't 100 degrees!! Then we had to close shop so we could go to our friend Jordyn's 2nd birthday party!! Here is the finished product. (Minus the top tarp as they shorted us 5 screws to finish. :-( )

What started as a not so great start, finished with the most awesome Father's Day and Papa Mike's birthday celebration at "Peyton's Park"!!

GYMNASTICS!!

Peyton has been enjoying her time at CATTS Gymnastics. She started two weeks ago and will go once a week for two months. There are two other little girls in the class. It is so cute to see them try to go across the balance beam and swing on the bars. Travis and I laugh about our little "grace" as she tends to be a little uncoordinated. I know. . . .she's only 2.5, but it's still funny to see.

Sorry pictures are a little fuzzy! I was trying to sneak them on my blackberry.

This past weekend our friend Chase turned 5! He had his party at a place called the Time Out Corner in Manhattan. It is a really cool place that is all black light and neon lighted. We all played putt-putt and the kids played arcade games. Peyton won a princess wand that lit up. Overall, it was an excellent weekend. We have another birthday party this Saturday for our friend Jordyn. Peyton has been asking if it's her birthday! Little does she know, but Travis and I will be putting her birthday present up on Thursday this week. (Yes, her birthday isn't until September) We bought her a swing set! This is all pending Travis and I can assemble it without doing bodily harm to each other!! haha The instructions say to allow for 10 hours assembling. AUGH! So more to blog about later this week. Catch up with you later!!

Memorial weekend

For our three day weekend we travelled to Belleville to enjoy a weekend with both sets of grandparents. We stayed with Grandma Di and Papa Mike, while Grandma Kathy, Papa Frank and Uncle Calvin were camping at Rocky Pond for a cattle show on Sunday. Peyton had lots of fun playing outdoors and bossing the puppies around while Papa Mike gave Lexus (their dog) treats. We played baseball on her new t-ball set. We picnicked and played at the park. Peyton also enjoyed making her own ice cream cone with Grandma Di at the DQ. Then we found out that no matter what age a girl is she still can appreciate a cowboy!!! haha

We had a very good weekend. Just sorry that I had to go back to work today!

Also, CONGRATS to Calvin for getting second overall heifer!!

Zoo adventure!

Two weeks ago, Peyton and I travelled to Salina and met Travis and his 7th grade class at Rolling Hills Zoo. The weather was beautiful and the animals were all out and moving around. I don't know how many times we heard "oh, look!" from Peyton. She had an absolute blast at the kiddee barn petting all the small farm animals. She particularly liked the camels, bears and giraffes. There was one monkey that really took her fancy and it even tried to reach through the fence at us.

Happy Mother's Day

Travis and Peyton got me a gift card to the Legends shopping outlet in KC for M-day. So we headed to KC on Saturday. Peyton helped Mommy get ready and in the process put her own make-up on.

We ate at T-Rex and Peyton loved the Dinosaurs and fish tanks. She also enjoyed the water foutain.

Sunday, we didn't budge from the house. Travis and Peyton fixed me breakfast for lunch and we all napped and played the day away. Overall, it was a great weekend. I hope all you moms out there had an equally awesome day!

Who's fresh face?

Happy 32nd birthday Trav! I've always kept this picture in my office at GTM as a reminder of what a hunk I married. This is Travis at 25. Boy what an old fart:-)! HAHA I won't share a picture of myself at 20 (which would be how old I was when we met) because frankly that would just depress me. Where does the time go?

Busy Week and Busier Weekend

I started my week out by spending Monday at home with my mom who stayed the weekend with us so Travis and I could go see Larry the Cable Guy in Topeka. Brent and Stacy went with us and the boys enjoyed some Hooters first:-) We loved the show.(Meaning Larry) He was extremely funny! Tuesday I decided that I should go back to work only to decide that I needed some time off! So. . .I took the rest of the week off. Unfortunately, I was sick with a severe head cold the entire time. I got to watch many chick flicks that Travis wouldn't watch with me. P.S. I will openly admit that I bawled or better word sobbed my way thru Marley and Me. What an awesome movie if you have a dog! Anyway, moving on! Peyton then had her schools Spring program. Papa Mike and Grandma Di came to watch. What a hoot!! When it was her turn to be on stage she peaked out the curtain before performance, then came the singing! Catch a falling star mixed with twinkle little star.
Very good rendition until she started to dance a little and then lifted her dress up!!
(sorry pictures were a little blurry) Then there was a little boy beside her that kept getting up and down off the risers. Therefore, Peyton decided it would be much more fun to jump off instead!! And yes, our little "Grace" biffed it! Busted her buns in front of everyone. As you can see the teacher had to be of assistance in picking her up.
After this we moved onto singing Old McDonald and she was having a blast singing and toward the end decided to test the jumping off the riser one more time! Luckily she stuck it this time and made a flawless performance :-) I almost peed my pants watching her. I wish life was always that fun!!

Saturday morning Travis and I decided to take advantage of the good weather we were having and landscape our front beds. We were even so adventurous to start phase one of a garden. (As of yesterday, it is all planted except for tomatoes. My back was killing me and Peyton decided to see what miracle grow water tasted like!) Here are some pictures of our project. We can't believe what a difference it makes to our house.

Sunday Travis and Peyton spent some of the day watching the Royals and Peyton decided she wanted to play baseball. We will definitely need to get her a t-ball set instead of our improvised set here.
